Former PRP MLAs may part ways with Congress

January 3, 2014

At a luncheon meeting on Friday in Hyderabad all the 14 MLAs of former PRP made it clear to K Chiranjeevi Union Minister to part ways with the Congress.

They complained to him that it is difficult for them to continue in Congress at a time when the party took the decision of bifurcation of the State. They told him that they are at the receiving end of the people's wrath following the decision. They apparently told to him of them being invited by YSRCP and TDP.

Tadepalligudem MLA Eli Venkata Madhusudhana Rao told Chiranjeevi that he will contest on the Congress ticket in the next elections and planning to join TDP. Peddapuram MLA P Gandi Mohan said that 'people have strong suspicion that Congress had done this as it was confident of getting the support of TRS and YSRCP after general elections. Summing up the feelings of colleagues, Minister for Endowments C Ramachandraiah told him that they are forced to part ways with the Congress.

Minister for Infrastructure Ganta Srinivasa Rao expressed displeasure that those in responsible potions were giving statements of some MLAs were planning to defect.

Chiranjeevi counsels

It is reported that Chiranjeevi had counselled the MLAs of the party not to take hasty decisions and reportedly pointed out that even TDP and YSRCP were not clear on their stand on the bifurcation issue and they too are facing the wrath of the people.
