Chiranjeevi assumes office as Tourism Minister

Rajya Sabha member K Chiranjeevi, who was recently made the Union Tourism Minister took charge of the office. Speaking to media after assuming office, Chiranjeevi said that he will seek the cooperation of film stars in the country in promoting 'Incredible India' campaign. He would strive to highlight places of tourism in the country, Chiranjeevi said.

Chiranjeevi signed his first file sanctioning Rs. 25 lakh for the conduct of 'Kakatiya Utsav'. The Utsav is conducted from November 25th onwards by the district administration of Warangal. Chiranjeevi said he would participate in the Utsav.

Fellow union ministers from the state Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy, Balram Naik and few State ministers congratulated Chiranjeevi on assuming the office.

Chiranjeevi recalled the words of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh who addressed the new ministers at his residence. Chiranjeevi recalled the words of Manmohan Singh who said he would be the brand ambassador of Tourism. He promised that he would do justice to the responsibility laid on his shoulders and would keep up to the expectations of the Prime Minister. Employment to 2.5 crore people in the country would be provided in the Tourism sector, Chiranjeevi added.
