PRP Chief Chirajeevi meets CM, says he wont step down

Praja Rajyam Party President K Chiranjeevi met Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah and said asked the Government to step in and bring in law and order in the state. He confirmed that he is not resigning from his MLA position and said that being the leader of a responsible party, he has to respect the sentiments and views of all the regions. He said that the statements by Union Government Ministers, particularly those of Home Minister P Chidambaram and Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee are leading to a confusion and wished the Union Government send in a senior leader to the state to ensure that the confusion is sorted out.

Meanwhile Anakapalle MLA Ganta Srinivasrao, speaking to the media, said that he has written to the authorities concerned to cancel the India vs Sri Lanka cricket match scheduled to be held in Visakhapatnam on December 18, 2009. He said that this is not the time for the cricket match and that people sentiments will be hit if the match is conducted at this juncture. He suggested that the venue of the match be changed or to conduct the match at Visakhapatnam itself after the situation cools down and comes under control. He said that conducting the cricket match at this moment will be like Nero playing the fiddle while Rome got burned. He said that PRP supporters will stop the cricket match tickets sale that will start from Monday December 14, 2009.
