Court issues non bailable warrant against Chiranjeevi

The Additional Judicial First Class Magistrate issued non bailable warrant against the Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi on Friday. He is accused of violating roadshow rules during a rally on February 20. The police framed charges against Chiranjeevi and three others.

Acting upon the charge sheet filed by police, the Magistrate Tejovathi issued the warrant against him. The police stated in the charge sheet that the accused is absconding. Meanwhile, lawyers said delay in moving the bail led to issued of warrant that would be recalled after due procedure. In another incident, Chiranjeevi has been exonerated of similar charges of pool code violation. District Election Officer, MT Krishna Babu said on Thursday that on verifying the CD of his comments to the television media soon after casting his vote in Jubilee Hills, the Election Commission did not find anything objectionable.

Krishna Babu said that scrutiny of polling in all the constituencies was taken up by the Election Commission taking into consideration of reports filed by the Returning Officers, Zonal Officers, observers and micro-observers. There were no complainants about rigging or impersonation anywhere or from any political party or contesting candidate and nothing was found amiss.
