Former TDP Minister Tammineni Sitaram joins in Praja Rajyam

Hyderabad

Former Minister in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) Government, Tammineni Sitaram on Thursday joined the Praja Rajyam Party. He had sharp differences with the party’s strongman in the North Coastal Andhra and Member of Partliament K Yerran Naidu over the latter’s efforts to intervene in the affairs on his constituency. He had announced his intentions to quit the TDP sometime ago. However, the TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu sent an emissary to convince him to stay back in the party. Tammineni is taking suggestions about the possibility of joining Praja Rajya for a while.

The efforts of the emissary failed and he, who served the TDP in various capacities since the past 25 years, finally called it quits on Thursday. Announcing his entry and welcoming him at the party’s Jubilee Hills office, the Praja Rajyam Party president Chiranjeevi said his hands were strengthened with each passing day.

Meanwhile, N Chandrababu Naidu described his leaving the party yet another instance of opportunism and treachery as he had enjoyed a Minister’s post for nine years.
