The Praja Rajyam Party on Friday dismissed the idea of power sharing with the Telugu Desam Party after the elections. The proposal that was mooted by CPI State Secretary K Narayana was turned down. The CPI leader at a meeting in Sangareddy on Wednesday has said that after the elections, sharing and rotation of power between the two main opposition parties like TDP and the Praja Rajyam could be considered.

Praja Rajyam spokesmen Dr. P Mithra and Parakala Prabhakar however has come out and categorically told the media that they had never entertained such thoughts. They said that they have not even spent a minute thinking on these lines. Prabhakar said that since its birth, Praja Rajyam had gone ahead with confidence that it was the only alternative to the progress considering the policies of TDP and Congress.

Prabhakar reiterated that it was not averse to any political alliances and added that at this point of time, the party was not thinking on these lines. Referring to the Friday's public hearing on bauxite mining at Chintapalli at Visakhapatnam district, the party spokesmen Dr. P Mithra charged the Government for deploying Greyhounds, the elite anti Naxal police force and dissuading people form attending the hearing. He said that the party president's north Andhra tour beings on October 9.
