Political alliances still on hold at PRP

November 23, 2008

With which political parties will Praja Rajyam form political alliance is yet another million dollar question. While most of the other state-level and national-level political parties are making their moves to decide who their allies and foes are, Praja Rajya Party is still yet to make moves towards this.

Media reports and gossip amongst the people says that PRP is keen to contest alone in the upcoming elections. The party spokesperson Parakala Prabhakar has already given a hint towards this saying that the party has got immense confidence after seeing the huge turnout of people to Chiranjeevi's recently concluded Praja Ankita Yatra.

Meanwhile, the party General Secretary Allu Aravind has met CPI General Secretary AB Bardhan when the later was in Hyderabad. Aravind however turned down speculations saying that when leaders come to them to congratulate Chiranjeevi's entry into politics, it is a courtesy on their part to meet them. He said that the political alliance with other parties cannot be ruled out outright.

From what has been happening so far, Praja Rajyam is maintaining equi-distance to Communist Party of India, the Telangana Rashtriya Samithi and the Nava Telangana Party. Who will be alliance and who will be foes would decide the future course of the party and its fate in the upcoming elections.
